2023As you know, on January 28, a strong earthquake occurred in and around the city of Khoy. There are people who have died and been injured as a result of this natural disaster. The sudden death of our compatriots has deeply saddened us, we express our deepest condolences to their families and wish our injured a speedy recovery!
The earthquake has truly devastated the city of Khoy and the surrounding areas. Therefore, thousands of our citizens, wounded, women and children, the elderly, and the sick, continue to live in the snow and rain in this cold winter. Our hearts ache as we watch their pitiful condition in the videos about the earthquake spread on social media… Why is the government not providing our people with the necessary assistance?
When natural disasters occur in other countries, we see that in a short time, large technical, medical, and material aid is sent to those areas, tent camps are built to accommodate people or they are temporarily housed in government buildings, and they are constantly provided with food and drink. Did we see this in Khoy? Was a medical center established when there were so many wounded, after all, some of them were in very serious condition? Why didn’t you hear the cries of so many people suffering from hunger and cold? Finally, after so much complaining and criticism from abroad, the state came to visit a few devastated neighborhoods and brought very little aid, which would have been better if they hadn’t brought it. What is the fault of these people, are they Turks? You yourself were not helping, so why did you send back the aid of the Turkish Red Crescent and reject the request to help from Azerbaijan? What do you want from these people? After so many sad events, there were wonderful actions that filled our hearts, swelled our chests, and strengthened our nation’s self-confidence once again. In these difficult days, it can be said that almost all of our South Azerbaijan, North Azerbaijan, and every Azerbaijani living abroad were united, our hearts ached day and night, we thought of you, and we showed national unity! Thank you again to our national social activists! As a result of their hard work, in a short time, great aid, food and drink, clothing, tents, medicine and medical supplies, and other important things were collected in all Azerbaijani cities and sent to the earthquake zone. We express our deep gratitude to all our national activists! We are proud of you, dear ones! Yes, today, regardless of where we live, we must provide our best material and moral assistance to heal the wound of our Khoy, which is a part of our homeland. In the meantime, if you want to join aid campaigns, do not forget to check in advance whether they are reliable or not!
