Dear Citizens!
Elections are not a duty, but a right!
The flourishing of democracy arises from the sincere respect of human rights by every government. When it comes to civil rights, while basing on democratic rights, the people are not there to serve the government, but perhaps the government is there to serve the people. Thus, the people are not considered subjects of a democratic state, but only citizens, and only then do states ensure the rights of nations. Citizens are loyal to the state, but such a duty does not fall on the shoulders of nations before tyrannical governments. That is why participating in elections is not a duty, but perhaps a right, and this right can be exercised in a democratic government, citizen! May all people and their national rights be theirs.
For 31 years, the apartheid policy of the Islamic government has alienated the Azerbaijani Turk from his national existence and condemned him to live in unbearable conditions. There is no need to recall hundreds of bitter events again. However, on May 22, 2006, the legitimate voices of our people were drowned in blood in 35 cities and towns. National and cultural activists of Azerbaijan are still being persecuted.
Finally, for the first time, “for the sake of Azerbaijan” in order to implement the laws of the Constitution, on March 10, 2009, our compatriot Akbar Alemi was nominated for the presidency from Tabriz. It is not a coincidence that the current regime did not give Mr. Akbar Alemi authority. It is clear that the apartheid policy of the regime bearing the name of Islam continues.
Dear Citizens!
We are on the eve of the 10th presidential election. Taking into account all the facts, Azerbaijanis, deprived of their national existence, do not want to implement certain articles of the Constitution today. Their distrust of the authorities and the idea of achieving their own destiny have become a serious daily issue.
AMC calls on our dear citizens and caring brothers and sisters to abstain from participating in the presidential elections as a national protest. We believe that as a result of this cultural struggle, we will be able to achieve our national rights!
